President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has stressed the importance of continuing efforts to develop the sector of Industry as one of the main pillars of national economy together with focusing on developing industries in which Egypt enjoys privileges such as textiles, furniture, leather products and cars.
The President called on the government to go ahead with plans to establish integrated industrial cities, topped by Roubiki Leather City and the Damietta Furniture City. President Sisi made these remarks during a meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and Trade and Industry Minister Amr Nassar, Presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said. During the meeting, Minister Nassar reviewed his ministry's strategy to develop the industrial sector in Egypt, particularly in the fields of textile, furniture, carpets and automotive. The minister uncovered the ministry's plans to upgrade commercial relations with the world countries and increase Egyptian exports in the coming period together with developing the sector of industry in the field of labor intensive and manufacturing industries through developing Industrial control system, establishing industrial complexes and encouraging small and medium enterprises adding this will help achieve maximum benefit from raw materials, increasing exports, foreign exchange, cut down importation and maximize promising opportunities especially in African markets.. Nassar moreover underlined his keenness on encouraging junior exporters and providing them with the necessary training to increase Egyptian exports in the coming period. |
