Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar met with Kazakh Ambassador to Egypt Arman Isagaliev to discuss the future of cooperation between the two countries.
Nassar announced, during the meeting, that an Egyptian trade mission will visit Kazakhstan in early March to explore potential cooperation in trade, industry and investment. The delegation, he added, will include 31 of Egypt’s top companies in the fields of engineering industries, food processing, construction materials, pharmaceuticals, furniture, mining industries and banking; in addition to representatives from the Suez Canal Economic Zone. “The visit aims to strengthen the partnership between the private sector in Egypt and Kazakhstan and foster industrial integration between them, especially with their huge industrial potential,” he noted. The minister also pointed out that coordination is underway between the two governments to set up a permanent exhibition of Egyptian products in the capital Astana. According to official data, Egypt-Kazakhstan trade hit $80 million in 2018, rising 29 % from a year earlier; with Egyptian exports making up 80% of the total trade exchange between the two countries. |
