Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar said that the Egyptian government is keen on boosting relations with the Japanese business community.
Addressing the Egyptian-Japanese Business and Investment Forum in Tokyo, he added that Egypt is seeking to increase trade and investment cooperation with the Japanese side. He underlined the importance of the forum that is held on the sidelines of the Tokyo International Conference on Africa's Development (TICAD) that will kick off in Japan on Wednesday 28/8/2019. Nassar said that Egypt's participation in the conference with a high level delegation led by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi indicates that Egypt is seeking a new phase of distinguished bilateral economic relations at all levels. Japan is one of the most important economic partners with Egypt, he said, adding that the two sides are seeking to enhance cooperation between the private sectors in both countries. Trade exchange between the two countries reached 1.2 billion dollars last year while Japanese investments in Egypt hit 700 million dollars, he added. |
