Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs Abu Bakr Hefny stressed the importance of encouraging African investment to enhance the continental economic integration.
Hefny, on behalf of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, was addressing the 18th African-Nordic Foreign Ministers' meeting, held in Tanzania's Dar es Salaam, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. The diplomat highlighted Egypt's role in boosting peace and security in Africa, particularly in light of Egypt's chairmanship of the African Union and being the host of the African Union Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Development Center (AU PCRD). He reviewed Egypt's efforts in encouraging the African states to ratify the African Continental Free Trade Agreement. The meeting's inaugural session was attended by Tanzanian President John Magufuli as well as delegates from 25 African countries and four Nordic countries. |
