Alexandria Chamber of Commerce in Egypt has won the award of the World's Best Chamber for the year 2023 in recognition of undertaking the best unconventional project, the International Chamber of Commerce announced.
The announcement was made at the 13th edition of the World Chambers Congress, which took place on 21-23 June 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland, in the presence of more than 2,000 leaders from federations, chambers of commerce, and industry associations worldwide. President of the Alexandria Chamber Ahmed el Wakil has dedicated the award to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, saying thanks to him Egypt has turned into a hub of sustainable development through the successful hosting of COP27 UN conference on climate change. The International Chamber of Commerce brings together over 20,000 chambers and unions from 116 countries, Wakil said. He added that Alexandria submitted its file to compete with 111 chambers from 47 countries, ultimately being selected among the top four chambers along with the Dubai Chamber, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, and the Australian Chamber of Commerce. |
