Dr Mohieldin Meets with 3rd Batch of Iraqi Trainees

The Ministry of Investment organized the 3rd phase of a training and qualification program for Iraqi administrators who work in the Iraqi sectors of investment, insurance and the stock exchange.

The initiative aims at enhancing the Egyptian-Iraqi relations.

The 1st and 2nd training courses were completed last February and then again in April of this year. The first course covered the period between February 4th-18th; with 57 Iraqi trainees under the supervision of the Iraqi National Investment Commission (NIC) chairman's advisor, Abdullah el Bandar.

The 3rd batch included 38 trainees from the NIC, 10 trainees from the insurance sector and 8 from the Iraq Stock Exchange (ISX).

The second batch, from 16th to 22nd April 2010, and included 52 trainees under the chairmanship of Salar Mohammed Amin, the NIC vice chairman.

The Iraqi delegation included 31 members from the NIC and Iraqi local investment authorities, 12 from Iraqi insurance companies, and 9 from ISX.

Dr. Mohieldin also met with members of the third batch of the Iraqi delegation co-headed by al-Bandar, and Kassem Inayah, NIC board member.

The third batch, from 20 to 27 May 2010, included 46 Iraqi trainees; 32 from Iraqi investment authorities, 4 from insurance sectors, and 10 from the ISX.

"The program is very important because it helps promote Egyptian-Iraqi relations and strengthens bilateral technical and investment cooperation," Minister Mohieldin said.

The meeting also reviewed Egypt's efforts to improve the investment climate through promoting the One-Stop-Shop system, putting corporate governance principles into action, and explaining the foundations of corporate social responsibility (CSR).
