Minister of Electricity and Energy Hassan Younis said on 28/11/2011 after receiving the report of the head of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company that 90% of the 2nd phase of the electricity projects were implemented in order to generate one thousand megawatts from 6th of October and west of Damietta stations with investments amounting to more than LE 4 billion.
Younis said that the programs that aims to access the new stations to service go naturally to add 2400 MW of the networks during the next few months, adding that the financial funding of these projects are available. Meanwhile, the head of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company said that the work rates in the networks are good and that the power plant units in October station reached 600 MW while those of the Damietta station reached 500 megawatts as the two projects will work during April 2012.
Hamdi Al-Azab, the Head of East Delta Company said that Arish power station is working at full capacity after ensuring the alternative fuels after bombing the Arab gas pipeline.
