Finance Minister Momtaz Al-Saeed said on 28/3/2012 that the economic program completed by Egypt and came under discussions with the International Monetary Fund IMF is characterized by transparency, easing measures and legislations amendments for the customs and taxes laws and explaining data to the public and not the experts only. He affirmed that the IMF did not necessitate any terms that Egypt should a bide by and what is going on now is discussions on economic measures proposed earlier by government to get the loan and what could be implemented of those measures according to a timetable to reform the Egyptian economy and overcome crises.
Those measures aim at introducing economic reform without doing harm to the social dimension and that concentration should be made on improving living conditions and the marginalized categories through increasing social security funds and providing low costs housing units for the limiting income people. Al-Saeed said that talks are centered this round on the technical aspects and figures included in the present and coming state budget in light of the economic situation Egypt is suffering from. Proposed measures to restore confidence to restore confidence in the Egyptian economy and the capability of Egyptian economy for growth and creating more job opportunities, he added. |
