Dr. Al-Ganzoury Meets Swedish Ambassador to Cairo

Prime Minister, Dr. Kamal Al-Ganzoury, receives the Swedish Ambassador to Cairo Malin Kärre, in attendance of Assistant to Foreign Minister for European Affairs. The meeting discussed means of enhancing the Egyptian-Swedish relations in all fields, especially the economic and investments ones, and means of increasing Egyptian imports to Swedish market particularly textiles. Sweden considers as the largest country which continue pushing investments in Egypt upon 25th January Revolution.

The Foreign Minister Assistant stated that the meeting reviewed the cultural and tourism relations between both countries, and means to increase number of Swedish tourists to Egypt who reached 210,000 tourists last year, along to the possibility of discussing establishment of Tut Ankh Amun fair in the Swedish capital to increase and deepen friendship relations with Egypt. The meeting stressed the Swedish economic circles trust in Egypt. Swedish investments increased in Egypt over the recent period including acquisition of one of the communication companies with USD 410 million, increase investments of one of the food products company with USD 30 million, along to establishing one of the well-known Swedish furniture shops in Egypt in May of the coming year with Egyptian-Swedish investments.

Kärre stated that the meeting was very good and covered cooperation fields especially the economic one, and development of the tourism and cultural relations, stating that there is significant development in the Egyptian economic performance currently, something which would push Swedish investment in Egypt and increase the mutual relations. She added that there is trend towards increasing number of Swedish tourists to Egypt.
