Despite of claimed recession and low down in demand cement prices are continuing to increase to reach L.E. 510 per ton on board trucks and L.E. 530 per ton in the retail market. This was reported in the media quoting traders claiming cement producers are maneuvering in the market to return prices to its earlier higher levels. Traders noted that the present demand volume does not exceed 25% of its level prior to January revolution. Most interviewed traders joined the view that manufacturers are behind that increase.
