Cooperation between the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Arab countries on achieving food security was discussed at meeting by ambassador of the UAE to Italy and permanent representative to FAO Abdul Aziz Nasser Al-Shamsi and the director-general of FAO Jose Graziano da Silva.
In remarks at the meeting which was held on the sidelines of a reception, Al-Shamsi underscored standing cooperation between the UAE and FAO on fighting desertification in light of regional population growth and the reliance of the region on food imports. For his part, Da Silva stressed on cooperation with the Gulf countries to increase their agricultural production.
