New Agricultural Policies to Achieve Food Self-Sufficiency

President Mohamed Morsi has stressed that the Ministry of Agriculture should adopt new policies that could help achieve food self-sufficiency through giving wider attention to providing strategic agricultural crops such as wheat, rice, corn and cooking oil to citizens at reasonable prices. At his meeting with Ahmed Gizawy, the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, the president stressed the importance of diversifying protein sources mainly red meat from countries having excess of this product. The president said these imports should be free from any disease and their prices should be affordable.
