 President Abdel Fattah El Sisi highlighted the importance of improving the infrastructure of the telecommunications and information technology sector, especially in Upper Egyptian Governorates.
At a meeting with Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Yasser el Qadi, Sisi said such an improvement will serve efforts to achieve sustainable social development, provide new job opportunities and lure more foreign investments. According to Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef, the minister reviewed his ministry’s plans to finalize licenses of the fourth generation of mobile networks. He also reviewed the work progress in a number of projects, including the establishment of two technological zones in Alexandria’s Borg el Arab and Upper Egypt’s New Assiut City. During the meeting, President Sisi ordered finalizing database centers, highlighting the need to offer better services for all citizens, the spokesman said. The ministry’s contribution to Egypt’s new administrative capital was also high on the agenda of the meeting, he added. |
