As part of its emphasis to invigorate foreign economic cooperation, the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ACCI, has received Husin Bagis, Ambassador of Indonesia to the UAE, to discuss and enhance economic relations between the two sides.
Accompanied by Hiro Surso Sodrajad, Counselor at the Embassy of Indonesia, the ambassador was received by Salem Al Suwaidi, Director-General of ACCI, in the presence of Mohamed Al Janahi, Executive Director of the Investment and Business Development Sector at ACCI. During the meeting, Al Suwaidi highlighted important economic elements available in Ajman. He commended the leadership's keenness to provide an attractive business environment in cooperation with all competent government entities in the emirate. These initiatives place Ajman in 35th position internationally, and second regionally regarding facilitating business transactions and investments, as per findings in a World Bank Report, he added. Al Suwaidi reiterated that the Ajman Chamber is keen to enhance its direct communication with all countries to increase trade exchange and enable people in business and investors to build partnerships that serve all parties. The joint meeting also affirmed the necessity of holding these meetings in the presence of investors from Ajman and Indonesia to share their experiences among themselves. Husin Bagis thanked the Ajman Chamber for the warm reception, highlighting the strength of relations between the UAE and Indonesia. He also briefed the attendees about several financial deals and agreements made between the major economic bodies in both countries. During the meeting, Bagis invited the Ajman Chamber to attend Trade Expo Indonesia, TEI, Indonesia’s flagship economic event featuring various trade and investment fields of interest including food, clothing, medical equipment, and petroleum equipment, among others. He also invited businesspeople and investors in the emirate to visit Indonesia to become more acquainted with the investment opportunities available in the tourism industry. The visit concluded with Mr. Al Suwaidi presenting a commemorative shield to Ambassador Bagis. |
