Egyptian Trade and Industry Minister Amr Nassar underlined the importance of benefiting from the developed Russian industrial expertise.
During a session on Russian-African cooperation, he called for benefiting from the huge natural resources in Africa in establishing joint African-Russian industrial ventures that would cater for the continent's needs and export the surplus to regional and international markets. He added that more Russian industrial zones could be set up in Africa, citing the establishment of the Russian trade zone in Egypt. He highlighted the importance of industrial zones in developing production mechanism, bridging the gap between production and distribution, and reducing logistic and technical costs. He added that establishing more Russian industrial zones in Africa would promote public and private sectors' investments. He added that Russia and African countries could also cooperate in developing transportation through manufacturing railways and trucks in addition to establishing railways, referring to African governments's interest in developing the infrastructure. |
