Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Hassan Abdullah reviewed during a meeting a raft of economic files, topped by the themes and topics to be discussed during an economic conference the government will hold soon pursuant to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives.
The conference is expected to explore a set of visions and proposals for shoring up all sectors of the national economy and dealing with current challenges. Madbouli gave an outline of preparations underway for the event, including ongoing coordination among relevant bodies to set an agenda that covers several topics and files of significant importance to the national economy, such as exports, industry and investment opportunities, Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad said. The prime minister highlighted the pivotal role played by the CBE to streamline investment-related measures that stimulate investors to embark on more projects in various sectors, especially the manufacturing, infrastructure, and energy industries. The meeting also touched on key fiscal policy indicators, as well as the recent measures taken by the government and CBE to weather the impact of the current global crises in a way that ensures full integration between the fiscal and monetary policies of both sides. It also tackled the latest developments related to Cairo's ongoing talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in addition to the efforts exerted to secure the funds necessary for purchasing strategic commodities as per President Sisi's directives. |
