Cabinet Discusses Sisi Assignments

The Cabinet, under Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, convened on Wednesday 30/9/2015 to discuss assignments by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

Ismail called on all ministries to have a unified vision while implementing such assignments.

Sisi called on the new government to work on several axes, including boosting the democratic process in Egypt, improving the living conditions of Egyptians, achieving social justice and restructuring the Egyptian government.

He further directed the new Cabinet to maintain Egypt's national security and support the role played by Egypt at the Arab, African and international levels.

Moreover, the Cabinet discussed a report presented by the Education Minister on the new academic year and efforts exerted to develop governmental schools.

About 95 percent of 51.000 schools were maintained, the minister said.

The minister also underlined that he held a get-together meeting with heads of the educational directorates where he stressed on the importance of the educational role played by schools.

He underscored on the need of paying field visits to schools by the officials.

Meanwhile, the Higher Education Minister said that the academic year has begun in 23 governmental universities.

The Youth Minister said that the sport utilities affiliated to the ministry will be prepared for receiving students to practice cultural and sport activities in it.

In addition, the Cabinet reviewed the status of compensations allocated for Sinai's residents over their buildings and farmland.

The report about the compensations was introduced by North Sinai's Governor Abdel Fattah Harhour, who was present during the Cabinet meeting.

Harhour also highlighted his governorate's need for some services and educational sectors, along with steps for establishing the new Rafah city.

The Cabinet initiated its meeting by observing a minute of silence over the Egyptian victims, died in the Mina stampede tragedy during performing Hajj rituals.

The Cabinet also reviewed measures taken by the General Authority for Investment (GAFI) to activate the single-window system meant to issue investment licenses for investors.

All the bodies concerned were contacted to prepare auditing guidelines on the activities covered by the investment guarantees and incentives law.
