French wheat exports to Egypt during 2010/ 2011 were estimated at a level close to 2.5 million tons. This was reported in the media quoting the French Ambassador to Egypt indicating that the French Grains Export Union in cooperation with Ubi France, is holding the 16th Egyptian French Seminar on Grains, obviously to promote French wheat on the Egyptian market. N.B. Earlier media reports indicated that Egypt's annual wheat imports range 7.5 million to 8 million tons dominated for the past year or more by the Russian wheat.
